Writing for yourself is like licking your elbow – you’re just too close.

Seriously though, I’ve re-written my own website fiftygabizilion times, and every time feels like the first time. 

Mind-meltingly, headache-inducingly, eye-crossingly horrible.

And I do this for coaches every day for a living! 

So, whether you’re a writer at heart or wish words would just magically appear so you don’t have to deal with them – writing your own web copy is an entirely different challenge. And effective web copy that actually sells requires a shocking amount of strategy to pull it off. 

Because you’re not writing a blog post. 

You’re writing something that has to move clients to want to give you their money. You know, the money that doesn’t grow on trees?

No pressure!  (So. Much. Pressure.)

Add to that pressure the upchuck reaction most of us have to icky, manipulative sales tactics, and you’ve got the perfect recipe for writer’s block. 

(You don’t have to use those icky tactics by the way – you can get clients who love you without manipulating them into it.)

This is just to say: I’m so glad you’re here, because you don’t have to do this alone

I’ve been copywriting for businesses of all kinds for ten years, most of them in tech: Also known as the cutting edge of online marketing. I know all the strategies, formulas and theories that make copy convert. 

And some of them are shady AF.

I don’t do that.

I believe that the most effective marketing is making meaningful, authentic connections that lead to positive change.

It’s marketing that adds beauty to the world, that helps us see what’s really important (instead of distracting us from it).

It’s copy that connects, rather than converts.

And that’s why I’ve mostly stopped writing copy and content for tech companies (though I make a few exceptions if the company shares my values – and some do). 

But what I really love is copywriting for coaches.

Life, spiritual, business, health & wellness coaches – people who teach and inspire – are my favorite people, because they get it. They get that this life is about making the world better, one person-to-person connection at a time.

Friends, I’m a Virgo, and whether I’m an Enneagram 7 or 8 is up for debate. Want to pick me out in a crowd? Look for the woman in the retro dress and vintage hat. Find me at home though, and I’ll be covered in dirt from my herb garden, my mini-schnauzer Greta will greet you at the door, and I will unfailingly offer you tea.

The intuition I bring to my work comes straight from my hippie-dippy heart. Empathic? Yep (and boy does that help with writing in my clients’ voices). Crystals on my desk? Check. Doused in essential oils? You’ll smell me coming.

I think the most compelling kind of copy isn’t a sales funnel or a formula, but comes from genuine, heart-to-heart connections. My personal brand of magic is building those connections in ways that feel good.
